, although a relative newcomer to the British design scene, is widely considered to be a future leader in his field. In fact, Taylor is the newly announced winner of the ELLE Deco design ward for the series of Fold Lamps produced by Established & Sons. After studying Furniture and Product Design at Notthingham Trent University, Alexander started his career working with Proctel-Rihl before establishing his own design studio in 2002. Milan 2004 saw Taylor launch onto an international platform with products designed for London manufacturer Thorsten Van Elten and a commission for Aqua di Parma. 2004 was a pivotal year for Taylor as his 'Antlers' coat hook won the ELLE Deco Home Accessory of the Year Award and a collection of new work was put into production with Japanese manufactures E&Y.

The design derives its name from its construction process: an aluminium sheet is subjected to multiple folding in order to create the traditional motif of the product. The reference to the tradition of lighting design is evident in the silhouetted form of the Fold lights and in the application of a braided fabric cable.
