Rosario Memoli was born in 1979 in Salerno, Italy where he currently lives and works. Graduated in Painture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze (Fine Arts school of Florence).
"I’m interested in the evocative power of images, and I can say that every image belongs to the person who sees it, much more than to the person who creates it. By the way, the main thing is that informative charge is not influential in non-visual sense, so as the author’s fatherhood. I prefer manual dexterity in creating artworks, and I choose poor water-paints basically used in housebuilding; I don’t parade a refined pictorial art and I don’t use gained qualities of a good material. Colour appears to be chalky , whitened and out of tone. The colours matching doesn’t follow any logic of complementarity. Images’ structure is never projected, neither concerned to automatic execution; it follows it’s own creative work-in-progress during strong working sessions. The fixed presence of white bottom shows the page as a support and not as a back page, there is no atmosphere, no prospective and no previewed vision progress; each one can start his personal relationship without resolving any particular riddle and without falling in any perceptive experiments. Remains of signs". (Rosario Memoli)
