"This is part of a fashion serie made for the magazine "Bag". I've worked on Degas'painting as a source composition material. The dark haired model was actually a former dancer. She was definitly perfect for this work. The back dressed one represents the coldness and straigh of bourgeoisie, and the light one represents innocence of youth. I've started working with photographs I did. And then rebuilt everything on photoshop, try to make them look as paintings. All the backgrounds are photoshop digital "painting". The interesting part of Degas paintings is that you can actually observe the drawings lines, wich give the painting a kind of energy and elegance that fit dancers. So you can see the drawing lines here to. I've cut part of the real model sometimes and redraw it as I like It is definitly a autoremix process of work." (Nadia Micault)
