"I am French an was born in Nice in 1975. After studies of graphics desing in Paris around 2000, i became interested in photography. I am currently living and working in Stockholm Sweden. I can add that I work since a few months almost exclusively using a polaroid. I became interested in this format after having discovered the work of Knut Maron and I've been immediately blow minded by the so particular texture. The limits are very dilutes and gives the impression to have a matter very pictorical. With the numerical camera, the texture is much harder and gives a feeling of truth. In my work, Ii prefer to show differents directions without forcing to follow a way in order to propose severals interpretations. But it is also the way of working this format which interests me. The camera is rudimentary, the light dictates the catch of sight and makes the subject less essential than the image, almost secondary. The absence of settings makes it possible to be away from a technical approach of photography and to feel much more the instant. Travel and time are determinants in my work and are almost always a the origin of my creative process. Travel allows me to experiment a new and neutral glance on the world while photography by is contemplative dimension allows me in a certain manner of becoming free and out of this moment" (Jerome Icardo) |
